Working here

A School That Kept Its Staff

When Cambridge International School Sudan opened its campus in Cairo, it did not recruit a new faculty and start again. The leadership came, the teachers came, and the methods came with them. That says more about what it is like to work here than any advertisement could.

We teach the British curriculum from Early Years through to IGCSE, in a school small enough that every member of staff knows the pupils by name. Teachers are given the authority to teach properly, and are supported rather than supervised.

We welcome applications from qualified teachers, teaching assistants and administrative staff, whether you are already in Cairo or planning a move.

What we look for

The Qualities That Matter to Us

I

Command of the subject

Teachers who know their subject deeply enough to answer the question behind the question, and to teach it more than one way when the first does not land.

II

Experience of the British curriculum

Familiarity with the British curriculum and IGCSE examinations, or a clear willingness to learn it properly with the support of colleagues who already have.

III

Patience with children

Many of our pupils have moved country, changed schools and lost time. The teachers who do well here are the ones who understand what that costs a child.

IV

Arabic and English

Lessons are delivered in English. Being able to speak with parents in Arabic is not required for every post, but it is always valued.
