Our story

From Khartoum to Cairo

Cambridge Horizon is the continuation of Cambridge International School Sudan, founded by Dr. Salah Abdelaziz Ahmed. For more than fifteen years the school delivered the British curriculum across Sudan and built a reputation that travelled with its families.

In 2023 we opened our campus in Agouza, Cairo. The expansion was not a fresh start but a continuation: we brought with us the leadership, the teaching staff, the methods and the standards that made Cambridge International School Sudan what it is, and adapted them to the educational landscape of Egypt.

For a great many of our families, that continuity is the whole point. Children who studied with us in Khartoum did not have to begin again, and parents did not have to explain their child's schooling to strangers.

Our philosophy

Educational Approach and Values

We follow the British curriculum from Early Years to IGCSE, balancing academic rigour with the development of character. Education, in our view, does not end at the textbook or the examination paper.

I

Academic Excellence

We hold rigorous standards, challenging pupils to reach their full potential while developing the critical thinking and analytical skill that later study demands.

II

Character Development

We nurture respect, responsibility and integrity, so that pupils leave us with a moral seriousness that matches their academic record.

III

Global Perspective

We prepare pupils for an interconnected world through cultural awareness, language and an international outlook that opens doors.

IV

Individual Growth

We recognise each pupil's particular talents and give personal support and opportunity beyond the standard curriculum.

Leadership

Experienced Educational Leadership

Cambridge Horizon is led by educators and administrators with decades of combined experience in British curriculum teaching. Many of them were instrumental in building Cambridge International School Sudan, and they have brought that knowledge directly to Cairo.

Our leadership is committed to maintaining the standards established by Dr. Salah Abdelaziz Ahmed while adapting to the needs of pupils in Egypt — a blend of tradition and practical judgement rather than novelty for its own sake.

Our commitment

A School for Families in Egypt

As an institution still new to Egypt, we are committed to becoming a settled part of the local educational landscape. We respect Egyptian cultural values and incorporate them, while providing an education of international standard.

Our curriculum balances a global outlook with local context, so that pupils are internationally minded and firmly connected to their own heritage. That produces graduates who can go anywhere and still know where they are from.

Our campus in Agouza, Cairo provides a modern and supportive environment in which pupils can do well academically and personally — the Cambridge International School Sudan tradition, continued in a new chapter.
